Dallin has been in the MTC for one week and has been loving it! He is already teaching lessons in Spanish, and is having a great time with other elders in his area. It looks like they study and work hard during the day, and then get a little goofy at night! Dallin has especially loved the treats we sent him for his birthday (candy, cupcakes, gift basket packed with food!) and all his fellow companions were jealous! Thankfully, Dallin shared! It was such a treat to get a letter and to see Dallin in his official missionary name tag! He is happy, and learning a lot! He appreciates hearing from all of you, so keep sending him e-mails or letters! Here is an excerpt from his letter:

We got to watch the dedication of the Ogden temple on Sunday!! It was amazing! Right after President Monson said his remarks and dedicated the temple and after the Hosanna Shout, we all sang the Spirit of God. All 2,000 of us sang... the spirit was so strong! My body had chills and my heart was on fire! It sounded like there was another 10,000 angels singing with us! It was unreal how strong and how powerful that song was. Anyone who would have been in that room, Mormon or not, would agree that the spirit was there.
Yesterday night, we had Russel M. Ballard come and speak to us!!! He didn’t even prepare a talk! He just counseled us like a grandpa would to his grandchildren! it was amazing! He spoke with such power and authority! The crazy part was when it was over, him and his wife were walking off the stage, and they looked so frail and weak! I couldn’t believe how weak they were.... But he spoke so strongly! The spirit of God really builds people up to do things that wouldn’t be possible otherwise! He said so many things
that struck a chord with me.
I miss you all! I love you all!! Especially my family! Don’t worry about me! The Lord is on my side! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
