Life in the Field: Feliz Navidad

Merry Christmas with President & Sister Egginton.
This week was super fun!

We got to eat a ton of food on Monday... we got invited to eat and to share a message and they gave us two HUGE sandwiches and this huge thing of ice cream! I ate it all, but my companion was dying. Hahaha!

We also had Zone conference Tuesday, and we got some sweet shirts that say "Asi es!" It's funny because Elder Matthews says that a lot, and he made the shirts for everyone! He bought them for the whole zone, the Mission president, the assistants and Sister Egginton! Overall a great zone conference!

The next day we had our huge activity! It was awesome! I rocked my sweet ugly sweater ;) Everyone wanted to take pictures with me. Hahaha! It was a funny crazy day! We played games, had another zone conference, and had a good dinner! We also had a Christmas Program and my companion and I read Luke 2:1-20. It was awesome! President and the older missionaries sang and it was really good! :) We ended at 9 and president said"Well, I hope you all get home safe and sound!"

We decided to get home in taxi with Elder Tempest and his son. We stayed up super late playing games. I won! Haha! #winning. We ate pizza as well and enjoyed the night!

The next day, we ate super well. Ribs and shrimp. Such a delicious Christmas dinner.

Christmas Day we ate breakfast and I took a funny picture with the daughter of our investigators. She is 25 and I showed her family my pictures and thought the picture of Brittany and I was super funny, so she wanted to pose like that too! We are hoping to baptize their family this week!

Today at 2:30,  the elders called me telling me that Elder LondoƱo is having really strong stomach problems, and thinking they needed to get to the hospital. They didn't have money for a taxi in the middle of the night, so my companion and I had to taxi over, give them money for a taxi, so they could go to the hospital. After they left we walked home around 2:45 AM. It was a pretty crazy night! I bet Mom is freaking out that we were walking the streets of Mexico that late at night, but itw was sweet! But, it was good we went over because Elder Londono needed to get his appendix out!

Today we bought some Starbucks, and got some Chili's! I got myself a Rib Eye and I am dang happy! :)

Well that's about it! It was so great talking to all of you. It was awesome!

Life in the Field: A Green Hot Chili Pepper

FELIZ NAVIDAD! :)

This week was fun! I decided to eat a chili pepper, which was fun! My mouth was really happy about that! Hahaha! I was sweating a ton, but it wasn't that bad.

As well I started to take Daxon again. I freaking hate those pills! It makes me feel sick for 3 days and you pee bright neon green! Hahaha! I celebrated ending my Daxon pills by buying street tacos and a pizza! Yuuppp! I was happy that night.

We got some cool pics with Miller the dog! Coolest dog ever! We also played with Bici the cat! We love the Rodriguez Romero family! They are like 58 years old, but they are super cool. I got them started on family history and we looked at my family tree... I HAD NO CLUE THAT MARRY AND JOSEPH ARE IN OUR FAMILY TREE! We can also go back to Adam & Eve. Very crazy!

We have a new investigator who is really cool! She is a pain to teach because she asks sooo many questions, but she will actually progress because she actually wants to know the truth! So, it's worth it to teach someone who really wants to learn about the gospel!

And today we went to a mall! It was sooo amazing! I miss American malls! I bought a Mexico jersey and a cool hat so I don't get burned when we play soccer! I almost bought a cool orange zebra striped wind breaker but that would have been a dumb use of a ton of money.

This week we have an activity planned for all the zones in Guadalajara! I'll get to see a bunch of buddies :)

Life in the Field: Tijuana Temple Dedication

Current District
This week was cool. We had a lot of lessons and good work. We got some new investigators and they are pretty sweet!
I'm trying to think of something fun for my missionaries for our district meeting, but I'll think of something! Thanks for your ideas!

So we hiked a huge hill one day for comida and took some pictures of us! it was fun but that hill though, gosh it sucked! Haha! But, it was well worth it for the photos of the entire area!

We also ate dinner with some members, and they had kittens! SO DANG CUTE! They were adorable! This sister had turtles and dogs and a duck as well for pets! Hahaha!

Also in another house, they have a kitten and I took a selfie with it because I'm cool like that! :) Selfies for days! :)

We went to the dedication (via satellite broadcast) of the Tijuana Temple! It was super fun! This was 3rd redidication/dedication in my mission! (Ogden, Mexico City, and Tijuana)  super fun!!!!!! Elder Uctdorf gave the prayer and Elder Oaks conducted the sessions! Super fun! It was cool seeing some people from my first area there!

Today we went to Cruz del Sur and listened to Dr. Stevens, which was cool. He just told us to be good and keep things clean. Afterwards Elder Dance, Elder Benitez, Elder Lavery, and Elder Ventura went with us to eat some Little Ceasers! Pretty fun day to be honest! It was fun seeing President Eggington as well! All of the new missionaries were there as well! It was fun seeing them; they all looked sad, confused, and just a little scared!

Love you a ton!

Life in the Field: Ha Nacido un Salvador

Zone Conference
This week was pretty good. We had a lot going on. Divisions and such.

I went on divisions with Elder Salvador which was fun. His area is super ugly -- a lot of dirt. But it was fun. He was a little difficult at times due to nobody being home but we worked through it and had success.

After that we had zone meeting this week. I literally talked the whole time. I just told everything how it was, and afterwards the zone leaders told me i should have just given the meeting! Hahahaha. It was fun. We also started with the new project of the church called Ha Nacido un Salvador. Its really cool and the videos are good! Check them out here.

After that, I went on divisions with Elder Lavery. That was fun. We worked in my area and had some good lessons. It's always fun to do divisions with Americans. We actually ate some good pizza and enjoyed the day.

Today we had a zone activity which was super fun! Played some soccer and then played with water. That was nuts! A lot of people were soaked! We had a really good time! It made me laugh a ton! I got soaked bad. After that we ate some pizza and before we ate, we soaked my companion because he didn't get wet at all! Haha! So bad, but so funny!

That's about it. Nothing much else happened. I am pretty tired, and ready to go to sleep, but we need to go teach! #missonlife.

Elder Jones & Elder Matthews

"He was born so I can walk in the light"

Happy Christmas time! I hope all of you are happy and cozy! I'm enjoying Navidad here in Guadalajara! Enjoying the warm weather and windy nights! :) I hope you all remember the true meaning of Christmas which is Jesus our Savior and Redeemer!

I know He lives and that He is our savior. I know that The Book Of Mormon is true and that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. And I also know that God loves everyone of us and for that reason, He gave his only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that we can truly have hope in this life. He lives, His Church is on the earth again, and I have the honor to represent Him and His restored church!

Love you all!
